WELCOME TO MY
09/10 – 09/14
Welcome to my very first Monday Visions! These posts will be where I lay out my goals, mantras, and foreseeable challenges for the upcoming week, as well as any rewards I can look forward to after crushing those goals into crumbly victorious dust. I’ll also be keeping a running track of several stats, so enjoy watching those numbers rise. Fridays we’ll come full circle, catch up and review how the week’s played out thus far.
Yoga 2x a day, morning and afternoon/evening. Complete week one of yoga camp, a 30 day yoga program.
Meditation 2x a day, morning and night. One self led, the other guided.
Organize and Deep Clean
Deep clean and organize my areas of living. Create a clean, calm, comfortable, space that is crafting, yoga, and meditation (not to mention alliteration) friendly.
This week will be focused on essential oils; gaining a basic knowledge of common ones, their properties and uses as well as finding and trying a few, mainly cleaning, recipes.
This week, I’m mainly trying to get into a groove of doing both yoga and meditation everyday. In the mornings I’ll be peacefully and perhaps sleepily doing a guided meditation. Following that I’ll be flowing through yoga camp (again!!), a series on YouTube by the wonderful Yoga with Adriene. In the evenings I’ll be trying out different yoga styles and difficulties before ending on a self guided meditation. A little too long put off and a fairly large task to undertake, as I predict there will be much to purge, deep cleaning and organizing will also be forefront on my goals list this week. In addition to cleaning and organizing my living spaces, I’m trying to organize lists, goals, timeliness and other such things into a written/visual format. Going hand in hand with cleaning, as I’ll certainly be putting a few recipes to the test, I’ll be broadening my basic knowledge of essential oils, including different properties, uses, and pairings. I can’t wait to start playing around with them!
I am grateful...
I can be the queen of excuses and the master of talking myself out of doing a thing. But I find if I am grateful from the get go, it makes the completing of the task so much easier and far more enjoyable.
It doesn't matter where, just begin...
In a project with too many components, I can become stuck and many times instead of making any moves, I make no moves. This mantra helps me to take that initial step.
I am capable...
This mantra is always a good reminder, especially when beginning new projects.
My biggest challenge this week will probably be my own mind. This whole endeavor has been a little daunting and all the little tasks add up quickly. If I can keep that mindset of mine positive though, then this undertaking will be much more manageable and enjoyable.
While I haven’t overloaded myself with too many projects this week, I am still liable to become overwhelmed and disinterested if I push myself too much. I’ll have to pace myself accordingly.
I have a terrible tendency to start projects and not finish them (I’ve started and not finished yoga camp at least 3x). My biggest challenge this week will certainly be reigning that tendency in and fostering better habits.
My self-confidence has certainly been rattled about by this whole undertaking. As excited as I am I do worry I’m neither capable nor intelligent enough for this. I know this is false, but still the doubts nag there in the back of my mind. This beginning week will certainly test the strength of that confidence.
This week, my goals are fairly simple, and my rewards reflect that simplicity.
Starting at square one so each day is, of course, also at lovely number 1. Each day besides clean eating that is cuz that just didn’t happen today. Tomorrow tho… Tomorrow… But first, a useless fact! And the first useless fact of the year goes to the #1 hit single from September 10, 1966 – September 26, 1966: You Can’t Hurry Love by The Supremes
