Muladhara: Day 1

I had a mid-day practice today. I followed along to Grounding into Gratitude, a gorgeous video by the always lovely Yoga with Adriene. There was grounding, stretching, squatting, connecting, and welcoming in love and gratitude as well as identifying things you’re grateful for. I did feel stretched and connected when the practice was over. I really wanted to share today’s, and each upcoming day’s, practice with the world. However, my computer decided it no longer wanted to work so that unfortunately didn’t happen. It took a few hours of tinkering but everything is fixed and back up and working! So tomorrow’s practice will be be taped for sure.
I did it!! I practiced meditation and it was simple and easy and enjoyable and why the shit have I been putting this off?! I followed along to a shorter 5 minute muladarha chakra guided yoga. I enjoyed it, the teacher gave a lot of postive affirmations and thoughts to think on. However, she went through it rather quickly so I didn’t feel as if I got as much connection or spark with the words she was saying. I’d like to try a longer one next time.
I am absolutely most excited about this one today!! I started off my morning with a strawberry/raspberry protein shake for breakfast. I also had a strawberry toaster strudel. I know, I know. Not clean eating nor, I’m sure, is it the best food to be eating for my chakra. But hey, red, strawberries, I’m going with it. Deal with it! I had the same shake for lunch, because I’m all about the easy during the work week. And for dinner… For dinner I made the most delicious sweet potato, chickpea, spinach curry. Seriously, I think it was just about tailor made for this chakra. So many veggies and good things to energize this chakra; sweet potato, purple potatoes, carrots, onion, peas, spinach, garlic, turmeric, ginger, coriander, and cumin.
